That said, as long as the comments are presented in chronological order, preferably from oldest to newest, I'll be happy. I can't stand reading a list of comments that are all jumbled and out of order, as any sense of conversation is thus destroyed. I also dislike having to scroll to the bottom of comments lists in order to find the first comment and then having to scroll up to follow the conversation, because that just feels so bass-ackwards to me. But, I understand that some people prefer seeing the newest comment first.
As a programmer who has a general idea of how these comments are probably stored and displayed, I'm not sure why a WYSIWYG interface would break threaded comments. I have zero experience with WordPress though, so I am speaking from ignorance.
Thanks for the feedback! I too am put off by having the newest comments appear at the top of the thread. It is very counter-intuitive.
I'm not sure why the MCE plugin makes it so the threaded comments don't thread (although the old ones stayed threaded). I'd love to have the MCE code right in the comments template so that I don't have to have the plugin at all, but I do not know how to do that. :)
Hmmm... it would appear that this WYSIWYG interface isn't completely WYSIWYG, in that my previous comment had empty lines between the paragraphs in the WYSIWYG interface, but those disappeared when it was posted.
Adam,
We cross posted. Yeah, I see what you're saying. That's annoying isn't it? Hmmm ...
